Today, Audi TT has been in its second generation and still have two car body styles that are the same with the first generation which are 2-door Coupe and 2-door Roadster, the Tye 8J. The improvement for this second generation covers power train and suspension layouts.

As a sports car, the suspension layouts included in Audi TT are presented through front-wheel drive or quarto permanent 4-wheel drive system, a front-mounted transversely oriented engine, and fully independent front suspension. These specifications are the results of the platform-sharing between German automaker and Volkswagen Group A platform series.

For further details, let’s take a brief look at Audi TT Coupe and Roadster. These two models belong to 8N and they are enhanced with Electronic Stability Programmed and rear spoiler to improve the ability of handling at very-high speeds, the suspension modifications are added as well.

This model has 5-speed manual for all models FWD, whereas the 6-speed manual is for all models 4WD. And the 6-speed is for DSG model. Moreover, the car is built with 1.8 L 14 20V Turbo and then was completed with 3.2 L VR6. However, this Coupe and Roadster production was ended in 2006.

The today’s Audi TT available and is still manufactured is the 8J and it is designed with aluminum in front body panel and steel in the rear of the body. Adopting the similar design of its predecessor, Coupe and Roadster, 8J is available as a 2+2 Coupe and as a two-seater Roadster. But this series is slightly larger than the previous generation.

Furthermore, the 8J series is power train petrol-fueled engine that includes 2 inline four cylinder engines which are Le Mans’s 1.8 litre EA888 Turbocharged Fuel Stratified Injection and EA113-variant from its predecessor.

The significant improvement in 8J is a multi-link fully independent rear suspension that will adjust the condition of the road as well as most drivers’ driving manner, the revised rear spoiler to support the high-speed acceleration. Other specifications are just the same like six-speed manual transmission coupled the six-speed Direct-Shift Gearbox or S-Tronic.
